A Happy Ending

Following a request of Bethesda Softworks, after a contact by Natiq “Defonten” Aghayev, Microsoft removed the stolen art on the banner from the XBox.com Fallout 3 page. They also placed the game as being single-player only, as I predicted.

In the words of Pete Hines to Defonten:

Don’t know where they got that image or why they decided to use it. We
certainly don’t have any interest in artwork being used in association with
our game that comes from somewhere else, and certainly not without

We will contact Microsoft and ask them to remove it and will find out why
this happened and why they chose to use your artwork without your permission.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

This doesn’t happen often, but this time I have to give some kudos to Pete Hines for dealing swiftly with something that was causing a stir in the Fallout community and was just plain wrong. So kudos to Pete, just don’t get used to it 🙂
