The penguin and the leopard

We already discussed that Bethsoft has no plans to develop a Linux or Mac version of Fallout 3, but they are opened to proposals by specialized companies, in the words of Lindsay “Shifty Eyed Dog” Muller:

It could happen if there is a large enough demand and if we are approached by a Mac games publisher such as Macsoft or Aspyr. Bethesda Softworks would not port it. So if you want to see Fallout 3 or any of our other games ported to Mac, contact either or both Mac publisher and request it.

Now that the issue was brought up again on the Bethesda Games Fallout 3 forum, with moderator Hungry Donner posting this:

So if people want Fallout 3 to be ported to one of these operating systems they should contact professional publishers about picking this up.

Matt “Gstaff” Grandstaff picked this line, and had this to say:

I don’t know the exact policy on this, but I guess it couldn’t hurt to try.

Let’s see how this develops.

Edit:  I got this comment through Meebo that sounds like good advice for Mac owners:

The other thing about a Mac version is that all of the Intel-based Macs can run Windows XP or Vista, using Apple’s own Bootcamp or SWSoft’s Parallels, and they make quite good game systems.
