CVG And A Release Date
A blog post I made a few days ago reached CVG that followed up the story with a question to Pete Hines:
Bethesda has told CVG that the official release date for Fallout 3 is still autumn 2008 in response to rumors of a Sept. 9 launch.
The September 9 date for the RPG sequel appeared on a list of PS3 software release dates sent to retailers by Sony.
It’s expected that Fallout 3 will release simultaneously on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.“Sept. 9 isn’t the release date. The release date is Fall 2008. Until you see something official from us on when the game will be out, take any date you see from anyone with large grains of salt”, Bethesda’s Pete Hines told us.
Fallout 3 is the latest game in the post-apocalyptic RPG series that has the hardest of hardcore fans. It’s Bethesda’s next RPG after Oblivion, and as such expectations are understandably high.
As I’ve said in my original post:
I am betting that the game does indeed gets released until the end of the year, as Emil Pagliarulo said a few days ago, but the exact date is still too soon to tell in my view.

Well I would say that the release date is close to being correct, but I can understand Bethesda not wanting to say anything officially. Release dates can easily slip and that creates negative feedback.

Best way to avoid trouble (but not whining).
